By far one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever stitched is this Raymond Crawford Mr and Mrs Bell. Of course I wanted to stitch something special to commemorate our wedding- but this canvas turned out so much better than I ever could have imagined. I know it is a family heirloom that we will treasure for years to come.

Everyone tells you that your wedding day will be the most special day of your life. But I don’t think I truly understood what that meant until that day itself. It was the most amazing feeling to look out at the room and know that our family and friends, from all different parts of our lives, had travelled from all over the country just to help us celebrate. That is without a doubt, a feeling I will never forget!

From a stitching perspective, this is such a fun piece to work on. I tried my best to make each of the different stripes unique. If you’ve ever wanted to jump into learning decorative stitches, this is a great piece to do that with. Each of the stripes has a very clearcut end. I picked the stitches so there would be minimum compensation.
At the bottom, I asked our finisher to attach a real bell, as opposed to stitching the one on the canvas. I think it added so much character! She also monogrammed the back of the design to read “April 14, 2018.”
As a bride, I would have been so thrilled if I had received this as a gift. To know someone put in the time and effort to make something for us by hand would be so unbelievably special. I always love using needlepoint pieces as a way to commemorate special events, trips and places we have lived. Every time I look at our Christmas tree, I am be reminded of those happy memories.
I got such great response the first time I shared the finished piece that we decided to kit a limited number of them. The kit also includes an online class. Only 24 kits are available! As Stitch Style readers, I wanted to give you a sneak peek. The kit is now available online and is only $95.
