Before we left for market, we were doing a little house-cleaning and stumbled upon not one, but TWO of these little Painted Pony Mini-Santas. Look at how little and cute they are… I certainly haven’t seen many needlepoint canvases this tiny. He’s barely an inch tall!
Suzie and I decided that to keep ourselves amused on our 5 (turned 17!) hour flight, we would have a little competition…
A needlepoint race!

Silly, I know, but you have to do something to keep yourself busy when traveling.
I think it’s safe to say that we both have a bit of a competitive streak… even the flight attendant was making fun of us over how seriously we were taking our little competition- racing to grab other threads and scissors before the other could reach them!
Suzie beat me in 34 minutes, by literally two stitches.
(I was NOT happy!)

Not our most sophisticated stitching, but it really was fun!
I have to say… there is a lesson to be learned here… I’m definitely an advocate of stitching for quality and accuracy, over speed and production.
