Does anyone else own a needlepoint canvas that seems to never end… or is that just me?!
Last evening I was looking through my unfinished projects, and I came across my Shelly Tribbey Christmas Stocking.

Don’t get me wrong… I LOVE this piece. I really do! But I think I spent so long looking at it, that now it’s now hard to stitch. I bought it in June, and was really intending to power through and get it done for Christmas…but whoops… I guess that never happened.
Looking at it in the New Year, though, I really am almost done…
1. All of the animals in Noah’s Ark are stitched
2. The entire tree is beaded
3. Almost all of the background is stitched
4. I’ve done like 60% of the water.
All that’s really left is the cloud, the stocking cuff and the rest of the waves!

I’m making a promise to myself (and to all of you!) to have this piece home from the finisher by next Christmas (at the very latest!) It’s not doing me any good sitting in the corner of my bedroom on stretcher bars… but it would look so lovely finished hanging from the fireplace.
Anyone else have a funny story about a needlepoint piece you just can’t complete? Feel free to share it with everyone, below!
