Needlepoint.Com’s 2019 Retreat

It’s hard to believe that it’s already time to start thinking about Needlepoint.Com’s 2019 Retreat. It feels like just yesterday that I was teaching the nativity at our last round of classes. We have a huge lineup of different offerings planned for next years classes. You certainly don’t want to miss out. The retreat takes place every March in Raleigh, NC, and spaces are already limited for 2019.

I will be teaching the Kirk and Bradley Manor House Friday March 15th, 2019. I’m super excited about this class. I’ve been stitching away on the backdrop and can finally share my progress. (Those of you who follow Needlepoint.Com on Instagram have probably seen my stories shared there!) Not only will we work on the backdrop (the house itself) during class, the canvas also comes with attachable winter windows. I can’t wait to get started on those- so many fun opportunities to use beads and embellishments and fun threads to bring them to life! How cute is that little wreath on the front door!? I know they are going to make the piece!

2019 Retreat

Saturday March 16th I’ll be teaching this Tea Party canvas. I know this is going to be such a fun class. I will be using a variety of different ribbons for the flowers (you all know that’s my favorite!) as well as lots of other fun specialty threads to bring this piece to life. I already have a background stitch in mind…. but you’ll have to follow along with my progress to see it!

2019 Retreat

I can’t believe that Nancy’s double sided Forrest Friends Father Christmas has already sold out- forcing us to add another section to meet the demand for the class! I think this may be my favorite of the three Vernon has designed. Love that emerald green, and those little critters couldn’t be sweeter. Knowing Nancy, she has some tricks up her sleeve to make really make those animals something special.

Tricky Stitches- A New Online Class

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday! Today on Stitch Style, I wanted to share the new online technique class that I’ve written for Needlepoint.Com: Tricky Stitches!

Tricky Stitches is a class that aims to teach stitches that are “tricky” to learn from just looking at a 2D diagram. Examples of stitches in this class include Ridged Spider Web, Buttonhole Stitch, Fly Stitch and more. Things that really benefit from video instruction and visual aid. It also teaches you where to use them on your canvas and what threads work best for each stitch. Really handy!

Our online classes include blank canvas, thread pack, stitch guide and online video reference through our website that never expires. You can watch the videos time and time again, and you have them as a learning resource in your Needlepoint.Com account forever!

Zombie Tonic: A New Online Class

When Vernon, the artist behind Kirk & Bradley, announced he was planning on designing a new poison bottle, we could hardly wait to see it. Even though it had been a few years since he had added to this collection of designs, they still remain some of Kirk & Bradley’s most popular of all time. With titles like Rat’s Tails, Cat Puke,  Frog’s Breath and Boiled Bugs, we were sure he would come up with something equally fun this time around. He certainly didn’t disappoint with Zombie Tonic!

When this new poison bottle was released at Dallas Market, we knew we were going to have to stitch this canvas.  So we went to work with some fun overdyed threads, some Straw Silk, and some oversized beads. We are now ready to announce that it is our newest online class!

The online class kit includes canvas, stitch guide, thread pack, and access to our online class which never expires. The kit is $115, and can be purchased online here:

An introduction to decorative stitches

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday! It is so muggy here in NC it’s tough to be outside. Not to mention that it rained four times yesterday! If today is anything like yesterday, I think there is a lot of stitching in my future! Today on Stitch Style I wanted to share the new instructional booklet I’ve just written for Needlepoint.Com. It’s called “An introduction to Decorative Stitches.” It’s designed for any needlepointer who is looking to try out different stitches for the first time, or who wants to increase their stitch vocabulary!

The packet focuses on where and how to decide what stitches to use, and has lots of suggestions on what each stitch works well for! The booklet is $17.50 and can be found online here.

This booklet is a sequel to Needlepoint.Com’s book “How to Needlepoint.”

I hope you all find it useful!
