2018 Retreat Sneak Peek!

Hey everyone. Happy Friday! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend planned with friends and family. I wanted to share a 2018 Needlepoint.Com Retreat Sneak Peek with you all! You may remember how much fun we had from the pictures on my blog I posted last year. I’ve been working on this nativity for the last few weeks, and am truly having the best time. I thought I’d share my progress with you all! Isn’t it gorgeous? The colors are so fun and the design is unlike anything I’ve ever stitched before.

Retreat Sneak

I will be teaching this class at Needlepoint.Com’s 2018 Raleigh A La Carte Retreat from March 16th-18th, 2018. I would love to have you join me. We are still working on specifics on pricing as the canvas is not 100% done, but feel free to call the shop for more information or to sign up. A $100 deposit will hold your spot, and the classes are filling up quickly!

Retreat Sneak

I really love that Vernon made the entire nativity scene one piece. No reason to pay to finish eight different characters, when you can just stitch one piece instead. As you can tell from my pictures, there are going to be a ton of fun techniques covered in class!

Hope you all have a wonderful long weekend!
PS. Only a few more days to shop the kit sale before it’s all over for this year!

Needlepoint Christmas Gifts 2016

Happy New Year, everyone! Now that the holidays have finally passed, I can finally share the needlepoint Christmas gifts I gave in 2016! I realize it’s been a while since I’ve shared some of my personal stitching, but I really wanted to keep these a surprise, so I really couldn’t post about them until now!

Growing up we always had matching Christmas stockings that my grandmother had knit us. They were simple with a Santa Claus on the front and were personalized with each of our names on them. We moved around a fair bit as kids, and unfortunately, during one of our moves, a little mouse got into the plastic tupperware they were kept in when they weren’t on display during the holidays. He ate holes through all of santa’s beards and they were ruined beyond repair.

It has always been on my Needlepoint “bucket list” ever since to replace them for the members of my family!

Needlepoint Christmas Gifts 2016

With all the stitching I do for work, I settled on these Stocking Cuffs by Associated Talents. While I would have loved to stitch full stockings, the idea of trying to manage that for six people is way too overwhelming for me right now! The best part of all is that their stocking cuffs are all painted on 13 mesh canvas. I also I really loved that I had a lot of different options in terms of designs to chose from- this way they all coordinate, but aren’t exactly identical.

Needlepoint Christmas Gift

I stitched James’ stocking first, followed by my two siblings- Tim and Bella. I’ve gotten quite a bit done on my own too. In 2017 I have to pick out which ones I want to stitch for my parents!

I can hardly wait to see all six of them hanging from the fireplace… when they’re all finished… one of these days!

Warm Winter Mitten: Online Class

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start! Today I wanted to share a quick post about this adorable Burnett & Bradley Warm Winter Mitten online class, now available at Needlepoint.Com.

Warm Winter Mitten

We’ve been working hard to put together a group of classes geared towards newer stitchers or stitchers who haven’t done a ton of decorative stitches before. After all, the more needlepointers the merrier! This class is one of my personal favorites: with only three different colors in the design, this canvas has such a classic look. It would make the perfect addition to your holiday decorations- and best of all, you can leave this design out all winter long!

Warm Winter Mitten

The online class comes with painted canvas (18 count!), threads, a printed stitch guide, needles, a Needlepoint.Com logo bag and access to our exclusive online videos. It really has everything you need to sit down and stitch right away. Plus, with so much instructional information it would certainly make a great gift for a dear friend.
You don’t want to miss out on this one… only a few kits remain!

The kit for this online class can be found here!

Finishing Update: Charlie’s Christmas Ornament

A finishing update on Charlie’s Christmas Ornament… It finally came back from the finisher this week and it couldn’t be any more perfect!

Finishing Update

In case you all couldn’t tell from the picture above… Charlie was just as excited as I was when his needlepoint round came back!

I just knew that this ornament would be the perfect way to commemorate Charlie entering our lives. We were able to have the finisher put his name and the year we got him on the back of the ornament.

Finishing Update

If this is the first time you are reading about this particular piece, I actually wrote much more about it in a previous blog post which you can find here (including the stitches and threads that I used on this canvas).

Finishing Update

I know I’ve said it before, (and I’m sure I’ll say it again!) but I just can’t imagine my life without this sweet little guy!

If you would like to purchase this ornament (or others like it) they can be found online here. Simply select “kit in our favorites” to have fun threads like the ones used above selected to stitch with!

Frosty Stitches for Snowmen and Snow

Happy Saturday, everyone! I know I told you all that I had an exciting announcement last night, so here it is! Remember the Santa’s Beard online class we launched a few months back at Needlepoint.Com? Well, we’ve done it again!

Frosty Stitches

I wanted to introduce you all to our new “Frosty Stitches” online class. The class is jam packed with different stitches for snowmen, snowy landscapes and snowy skies. Although all stitches are pictured on little snowman faces, this technique class does an excellent job at explaining where else the stitches might be well suited to use.

Frosty Stitches

The best part about the class is that your working canvas can be finished into six little ornaments. I think they’re one of the cutest series we’ve ever designed!
Stitch one for each member of your family for Christmas gifts this year.

The total for the class is $125, which includes a canvas with six mini snowmen faces, a threadpack, a printed stitch guide, a Needlepoint.Com logo bag and online video access for an entire year to the videos you will need to complete your class. An unbeatable price for six ornaments, if you ask me!

Frosty Stitches

The class is exclusive to Needlepoint.Com and can be found online here!
I know you will love stitching our Frosty Stitches Online Class, without ever leaving the comfort of your own home!
