It seems like every day now we are opening up another box of customer finishing. I absolutely love watching customers come into the shop and see their handiwork completed! Everyone just lights up! It’s really the best time of the year.
I was so excited to get this ornament back yesterday. The canvas is by Pepperberry Designs. If you follow along regularly, you may remember when I was working on it earlier this year. I saw the canvas at the January show and knew that I had to stitch it. I ended up deciding to add the year we are getting married to the canvas. It was really easy to chart!
I ended up doing a Woven Trellis Stitch for the background and used Pepper Pot Silk #16- Tomato. This is one of my favorite threads to work with. It’s single strand and so easy to stitch with. One skein was more than enough to stitch the pair of them.
For the top of the mittens I decided on a Double Hungarian Stitch and used one strand of Fuzzy Stuff #FZ26. Between the two mittens I had quite a lot of area to cover, and didn’t particularly want to fill it with French Knots, since they are more labor intensive. I thought this provided a nice alternative and still gave a nice effect. This would also be a really great stitch for a larger Santa’s Beard!
If you’re looking for a canvas to give to a pair of newlyweds, this would be the perfect gift.
Shop online here to order it for yourself.
Associated Talents is by far one of my favorite trunk shows to have right at Christmas time. Their ornaments are so festive, and fun. I just love the bright colors and patterns they use.
All canvases are 20% off right now, through the month of December.
I’ve linked the ones pictured above, below:
Hey everyone! Happy Cyber Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, surrounded by family and friends. It’s hard to believe that Christmas is now less than a month away. Definitely time to start shopping, if you haven’t already.
Today on the blog I wanted to share this adorable little ornament that my coworker Vicki and I stitched. So precious! This little train is going to make the perfect addition to our holiday wreath in the shop. As always, we typed up a stitch guide so you all can stitch one too. There are lots of fun tricks to learn- and this is the perfect opportunity to try your hand at ribbonwork if you never have before. If you don’t want to add the bow, you could always Satin Stitch it instead! I also love the way the beaded letters on “North Pole Express” stand up off the canvas. Plus- what could be cuter than that little bell?!
I always love to stitch in season- especially Christmas themed ornaments in December- even though I won’t have them finished and on the tree until the following year. If you purchase this North Pole Express ornament and want us to include the threads you will need, simply select “Pick our Favorites” when you add it to your cart, and in the comments section type “Kit to Stitch Guide.” Couldn’t be easier.
PS. Last day to enjoy free shipping on all orders on Needlepoint.Com!
It’s pretty rare that a trunk show comes to the shop and I don’t find something I want to stitch in it. The Maggie trunk show is no exception. There are so many fun canvases to choose from! Today on Stitch Style, I’m sharing my top ten favorites… all 20% off this month!
The trunk show gets packed up this weekend, so don’t miss out!
You can shop the whole trunk show here.
Today is the last chance to catch our holiday in July sale at Needlepoint.Com and shop the Burnett & Bradley trunk show. We still have some awesome canvases in stock that you won’t want to miss out on.
Holiday in July includes any holiday related canvas- that could be Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas, 4 July etc. we didn’t want to leave any event out! It also includes our best selling travel rounds and anything ornament sized. Plus 25% off is hard to beat!
I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite canvases that still haven’t found homes. You can see them below:
The sale ends tonight at midnight, so don’t wait to order, or it may be too late!
PS. If you’re thinking about taking the Nativity class, sign up online here. We have a VERY limited number of seats left!
Hey everyone. Happy Friday! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend planned with friends and family. I wanted to share a 2018 Needlepoint.Com Retreat Sneak Peek with you all! You may remember how much fun we had from the pictures on my blog I posted last year. I’ve been working on this nativity for the last few weeks, and am truly having the best time. I thought I’d share my progress with you all! Isn’t it gorgeous? The colors are so fun and the design is unlike anything I’ve ever stitched before.
I will be teaching this class at Needlepoint.Com’s 2018 Raleigh A La Carte Retreat from March 16th-18th, 2018. I would love to have you join me. We are still working on specifics on pricing as the canvas is not 100% done, but feel free to call the shop for more information or to sign up. A $100 deposit will hold your spot, and the classes are filling up quickly!
I really love that Vernon made the entire nativity scene one piece. No reason to pay to finish eight different characters, when you can just stitch one piece instead. As you can tell from my pictures, there are going to be a ton of fun techniques covered in class!
Hope you all have a wonderful long weekend!
PS. Only a few more days to shop the kit sale before it’s all over for this year!
