The perfect Christmas gifts: Point 2 Pointe

Today on the blog I’m sharing the perfect self finishing Christmas gift! We happen to have the Point2Pointe Trunk Show in stock right now at Needlepoint.Com and all items are 20% off. There are so many fun self finishing pieces to choose from. Everything from wine stoppers, to cufflinks, to keychains and wine tags and cuff bracelets.

I looked through the Trunk Show and picked out this cute little wine stopper for James. It’s the West Point mascot. They have tons of other school emblems too! You can shop them all here online. I think the entire piece literally look me 15 minutes to stitch- so you could easily knock out one or two in an evening. Personally I really like the cufflinks… my dad and brother might each be getting a set in their Christmas stockings…

Initially I was worried about having to finish the piece myself, but honestly, the whole process couldn’t have been easier. They have step by step instructional videos on their website, that are so simple to follow! You can find them online here.

Turns out, even though the deadlines have passed,  it’s not too late to stitch something to give away as a Christmas present!

Abigail Cecile is coming to visit!

We are so excited that canvas designer Abigail Cecile will be coming to visit us at Needlepoint.Com. You all may remember the last time she shopped by the shop. She will be in town this coming Saturday November 25th, which is coincidentally also small business Saturday.

In honor of her visit, we have a mini trunk show in stock. Her designs will be 20% off in store and online all week long. This coming Saturday we will have a drawing for a $75 gift card in store to put towards her canvases. Make sure to stop in our Raleigh Retail Shop to enter!

If you aren’t familiar with Abby’s work, you are missing out! She is so talented and her canvases are just gorgeous! I absolutely love her color palate. You may recognize her rooftops series- it’s probably what she’s best known for.

Make sure to shop the trunk show online to get your 20% off!  And don’t forget to stop by the shop to say hello!

Tricky Stitches- A New Online Class

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday! Today on Stitch Style, I wanted to share the new online technique class that I’ve written for Needlepoint.Com: Tricky Stitches!

Tricky Stitches is a class that aims to teach stitches that are “tricky” to learn from just looking at a 2D diagram. Examples of stitches in this class include Ridged Spider Web, Buttonhole Stitch, Fly Stitch and more. Things that really benefit from video instruction and visual aid. It also teaches you where to use them on your canvas and what threads work best for each stitch. Really handy!

Our online classes include blank canvas, thread pack, stitch guide and online video reference through our website that never expires. You can watch the videos time and time again, and you have them as a learning resource in your Needlepoint.Com account forever!

Mr & Mrs Wedding Ornament

I couldn’t have been more excited when Melissa, the Needlepoint.Com shop manager, told me that my wedding ornament had come back from the finisher! There is nothing more fun than seeing your work finished, but this is a particularly special piece for me!

I knew when James proposed that I wanted to stitch this Raymond Crawford bell to commemorate our wedding day, which will be in April of next year. I ordered it at January Market, and stitched it immediately. I love the striped look- the perfect opportunity to try a bunch of different stitches. I knew that it would be so elegant once it was finished. I even had Diana, our finisher, monogram the back with our wedding date. Rather than stitching the hanging portion of the bell, I had her sew on a real jingle bell instead. Such a fun touch. I know it will be a true keepsake for many years to come on our Christmas Tree.

As always, I wrote up the stitch guide, and it is available for purchase through Needlepoint.Com. We have only one canvas left in stock, and can easily pull the threads to match the guide. If you’re looking for a gift for a special set of newlyweds. This is the project for you!

You can purchase the canvas online here.
