It seems like every day now we are opening up another box of customer finishing. I absolutely love watching customers come into the shop and see their handiwork completed! Everyone just lights up! It’s really the best time of the year.
I was so excited to get this ornament back yesterday. The canvas is by Pepperberry Designs. If you follow along regularly, you may remember when I was working on it earlier this year. I saw the canvas at the January show and knew that I had to stitch it. I ended up deciding to add the year we are getting married to the canvas. It was really easy to chart!
I ended up doing a Woven Trellis Stitch for the background and used Pepper Pot Silk #16- Tomato. This is one of my favorite threads to work with. It’s single strand and so easy to stitch with. One skein was more than enough to stitch the pair of them.
For the top of the mittens I decided on a Double Hungarian Stitch and used one strand of Fuzzy Stuff #FZ26. Between the two mittens I had quite a lot of area to cover, and didn’t particularly want to fill it with French Knots, since they are more labor intensive. I thought this provided a nice alternative and still gave a nice effect. This would also be a really great stitch for a larger Santa’s Beard!
If you’re looking for a canvas to give to a pair of newlyweds, this would be the perfect gift.
Shop online here to order it for yourself.
Associated Talents is by far one of my favorite trunk shows to have right at Christmas time. Their ornaments are so festive, and fun. I just love the bright colors and patterns they use.
All canvases are 20% off right now, through the month of December.
I’ve linked the ones pictured above, below:
Hey everyone! Happy Cyber Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, surrounded by family and friends. It’s hard to believe that Christmas is now less than a month away. Definitely time to start shopping, if you haven’t already.
Today on the blog I wanted to share this adorable little ornament that my coworker Vicki and I stitched. So precious! This little train is going to make the perfect addition to our holiday wreath in the shop. As always, we typed up a stitch guide so you all can stitch one too. There are lots of fun tricks to learn- and this is the perfect opportunity to try your hand at ribbonwork if you never have before. If you don’t want to add the bow, you could always Satin Stitch it instead! I also love the way the beaded letters on “North Pole Express” stand up off the canvas. Plus- what could be cuter than that little bell?!
I always love to stitch in season- especially Christmas themed ornaments in December- even though I won’t have them finished and on the tree until the following year. If you purchase this North Pole Express ornament and want us to include the threads you will need, simply select “Pick our Favorites” when you add it to your cart, and in the comments section type “Kit to Stitch Guide.” Couldn’t be easier.
PS. Last day to enjoy free shipping on all orders on Needlepoint.Com!
Today on the blog I’m sharing the perfect self finishing Christmas gift! We happen to have the Point2Pointe Trunk Show in stock right now at Needlepoint.Com and all items are 20% off. There are so many fun self finishing pieces to choose from. Everything from wine stoppers, to cufflinks, to keychains and wine tags and cuff bracelets.
I looked through the Trunk Show and picked out this cute little wine stopper for James. It’s the West Point mascot. They have tons of other school emblems too! You can shop them all here online. I think the entire piece literally look me 15 minutes to stitch- so you could easily knock out one or two in an evening. Personally I really like the cufflinks… my dad and brother might each be getting a set in their Christmas stockings…
Initially I was worried about having to finish the piece myself, but honestly, the whole process couldn’t have been easier. They have step by step instructional videos on their website, that are so simple to follow! You can find them online here.
Turns out, even though the deadlines have passed, it’s not too late to stitch something to give away as a Christmas present!
We are so excited that canvas designer Abigail Cecile will be coming to visit us at Needlepoint.Com. You all may remember the last time she shopped by the shop. She will be in town this coming Saturday November 25th, which is coincidentally also small business Saturday.
In honor of her visit, we have a mini trunk show in stock. Her designs will be 20% off in store and online all week long. This coming Saturday we will have a drawing for a $75 gift card in store to put towards her canvases. Make sure to stop in our Raleigh Retail Shop to enter!
If you aren’t familiar with Abby’s work, you are missing out! She is so talented and her canvases are just gorgeous! I absolutely love her color palate. You may recognize her rooftops series- it’s probably what she’s best known for.
Make sure to shop the trunk show online to get your 20% off! And don’t forget to stop by the shop to say hello!
Tricky Stitches is a class that aims to teach stitches that are “tricky” to learn from just looking at a 2D diagram. Examples of stitches in this class include Ridged Spider Web, Buttonhole Stitch, Fly Stitch and more. Things that really benefit from video instruction and visual aid. It also teaches you where to use them on your canvas and what threads work best for each stitch. Really handy!
Our online classes include blank canvas, thread pack, stitch guide and online video reference through our website that never expires. You can watch the videos time and time again, and you have them as a learning resource in your Needlepoint.Com account forever!
