Shop the Birds of a feather trunk show before it’s too late!
Every time we get a trunk show in at Needlepoint.Com it’s like Christmas morning. Our staff is always so excited to see what each different designer has sent us in their box of goodies. The Birds of a Feather Trunk Show certainly was no exception to this rule!
I have had more fun the past few weeks helping customers kit their trunk show finds. Most of the Birds of a Feather designs have tons of room for decorative stitches with their big open areas of color. They are painted so well that they also make great beginner pieces- with many designs on 13 count canvas.
There are so many fun canvases to chose from right now… here are a few of my favorites from the Birds of a Feather Trunk Show at Needlepoint.Com.
1. This “French Lesson” boat (and the rest of the series!)
2. Fox Trot
3. You could have so much fun with different stitches on this Sleigh Canvas!
4. Shorebirds would be such a great addition to any beach house
5. This reindeer is one of the sweetest canvases I’ve ever seen
6. Red Rose Sampler- such a classic!
7. How precious are these little otters?
8. This Kit has everything included to start stitching straight away!
9. We have a customer stitching 3 of these angels and framing them together for her children! Such a great alternative finishing idea to ornaments as they can be enjoyed all year round.
We are having a Retreat!
Hey everyone! Happy Saturday! Have you all heard? We’re having a retreat!
You may remember last March when I posted about our Raleigh a la Carte Retreat– if you were unable to join us then, we’d love to see you this coming March!
I will be teaching these Kirk & Bradley Mews Houses on Saturday March 18th from 10-3pm at the Carolina Country Club. Vernon Kirk really outdid himself when he designed this piece for us to stitch. I think it’s one of his most elegant designs yet! It reminds me of the house we used to live in growing up in London- although many people have asked if it is supposed to be Charleston, SC too.
There are lots of opportunities to learn fun stitches on this canvas. Open work backgrounds, a touch of ribbon work and a few beading techniques too! You are sure to learn a ton from this class.
The great thing about Needlepoint.Com‘s A La Carte Retreat is that you can take as many or as few classes as you would like. We have a bunch to chose from at various price points. Elizabeth Bradley Classes, beading technique class, ornaments, stand ups etc. Take one or take them all!
Plus, when you sign up for any of our retreat classes, you are invited to our exclusive shopping event and party. With discounts and prize drawings, it’s an event you won’t want to miss. Click here to see pictures from our retreat last year.
You can sign up online here! Or you can call the shop at 919-828-5538!
We’d love to have you come stitch with us!
Joan Lohr at Needlepoint.Com
When Joan Lohr brought in this adorable two sided Susan Roberts Patriotic Santa in for finishing, we just knew we had to have her teach it at the shop! She will be teaching this piece nationally at Dallas Needlepoint Market in a few weeks, and we’re so excited to have her bring her class back to us afterwards. Isn’t it precious? I’m really thinking I’m going to have to take the class and stitch one for myself!
If you’ve never taken a class with Joan, now is the time to do it! She is an absolute wealth of knowledge (having taught all over the country) and is such a patient teacher. Not to mention, she is so creative! I know you will have a fabulous time in class with her!
She will be teaching this little guy on Wednesday September 28th from 10-3 at Needlepoint.Com (in Raleigh, North Carolina). Class is $185 and includes lunch!
Spaces are limited, so call today to sign up: 919-828-5538.
If you can’t join us, but would like to order a kit, you can do so online here.
Kits will ship on September 28th after class is over!
Finishing Update: Charlie’s Christmas Ornament
A finishing update on Charlie’s Christmas Ornament… It finally came back from the finisher this week and it couldn’t be any more perfect!
In case you all couldn’t tell from the picture above… Charlie was just as excited as I was when his needlepoint round came back!
I just knew that this ornament would be the perfect way to commemorate Charlie entering our lives. We were able to have the finisher put his name and the year we got him on the back of the ornament.
If this is the first time you are reading about this particular piece, I actually wrote much more about it in a previous blog post which you can find here (including the stitches and threads that I used on this canvas).
I know I’ve said it before, (and I’m sure I’ll say it again!) but I just can’t imagine my life without this sweet little guy!
If you would like to purchase this ornament (or others like it) they can be found online here. Simply select “kit in our favorites” to have fun threads like the ones used above selected to stitch with!

Hexes and Hats Club is here!
Needlepoint.Com’s new Hexes and Hats Club is here! Have you all seen them yet!?
I think they came out amazingly! Look at their crazy hairdos! I think my favorite thing about them are their funny drop bead warts… So over the top!
The new club begins September 15th, and includes all six of the new Kirk and Bradley Witch Cones, a stitch guide, and all the threads you will need to complete the project! One new canvas will arrive at your doorstep each month. The Witches are stitched with lots of fun techniques and threads including beads and straw silk. These little guys are the perfect opportunity to learn something fun and new!
On the other hand, if you’re intimidated by all the different stitches in there, all the threads included in the kit could be used to Basketweave your project.
There’s nothing wrong with that!
To sign up online click here or call the shop at 919-828-5538 for more information!
We can’t wait for you all to join us on this spook-tacular journey… you don’t want to miss out on this one!
